The word homeplace has special meaning for me, as the word hometown does for others.  It is the place you think of when thinking home, the place you want to return to.  It is filled with memories of family gatherings and experiences growing up, reminders of special objects, and remembered surroundings.   Since my family moved a great deal in my childhood, the one consistent place for me was a family cottage on Kahshe Lake in Ontario, Canada.  It is my homeplace that draws me back each year.
